15 Weeks

March 19

1. I had an appointment this Monday on St. Patrick's Day. Caroline and I went all dressed in green and ready to check on Little One! We got to hear the heartbeat and it was 160. The nurse found the heartbeat higher than she was expecting so her guess is that it is a girl (old wives tale that you carry girls high...). We will have to wait and see!

2. Looking forward to April 21... We are 5 weeks away from finding out if we will have a BOY or GIRL! :) I cannot wait!! So excited to know!

3. I have definitely had more energy the past few weeks. Thankful to be out of the first trimester!

4. I gained 2 pounds at my appointment this week.

5. My face has been breaking out like I am in middle school... ugh!! Ready for that symptom to go far far away!

6. No huge cravings this week. I bought ice cream sandwiches at the store this week so those have been my latest weakness.

7. I am looking forward to feeling this Little One move in the next few weeks! I was 18.5 weeks when I first felt Caroline, so hopefully I will feel her before our next appointment.

8. My sleep has been pretty good recently. I usually just have to get up one time to use the restroom.

9. Whenever I ask Caroline where "the baby" is, she comes and points to my belly! It is so cute and sweet! I know she doesn't understand what it means, but it still just melts my heart!

10. Only ONE week until we are at the beach!! Woo hoo!!

14 Weeks

March 12

1. We have been enjoying some warmer weather around here so Caroline is loving her new slide!!

2. I bought this "I'm the Big Sister" book before I was even expecting this little one in hopes that Caroline would be able to enjoy it soon. It has quickly become one of her favorites!

3. I was craving a Jimmy John's sandwich this week. This is really odd for me because I don't care too much for Jimmy John's when I'm not pregnant. I don't really like their thick french bread, but I have been craving lots of bread and carbs recently.

4. Another random craving I had this week was a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. I couldn't tell you the last time I had one... but it sure tasted good!

5. I have been taking a break from running, but I am starting back up again next week.
6. Blake says I have started my "diva" stage of pregnancy. Haha! Whenever I get hungry, I need something to eat RIGHT away!! I start just saying, "Oh, I'm so hungry!"  over and over again until I get something. Haha!

7. I am still fitting in all my normal clothes, but my belly is definitely growing!

8. I am really looking forward to my check-up next week for Little One! Can't wait to hear that little heartbeat!

9. I have been having a little bit of round ligament pain... mostly when changing positions when I'm sleeping and with sneezing or coughing. It was definitely worse with Caroline, so I'm glad it hasn't been too uncomfortable yet.

10. In TWO weeks we will be at the BEACH for a whole week!!! I am so excited about being with family and getting lots of relaxing time away!

13 Weeks

March 5

1. I FINISHED MY FIRST HALF MARATHON!!!! I did the Albany Georgia Half, which is known for being a flat course- yay! My goal was to finish in under 2 hours and 15 minutes. I finished in 2:13:26... perfect!! I had a great time running but was very happy to see that finish line! :)

Finally at the finish line!! It was a beautiful course with the finish line right on the Flint River. I am so happy to have this one in the books!

2. Blake and I had our first night both away from Caroline. Thank you, Colonel and Janny, for keeping Caroline!! We went to Albany on Friday night and back home Saturday. It was a really quick trip, but a nice time to have to ourselves!

3. I had been craving Cracker Barrel soooo much! I was specifically craving their biscuits. So after the half, Blake and I had a nice brunch date. I got a HUGE breakfast and it was so yummy!! I was so glad that Albany had a Cracker Barrel so I could fix my craving!

4. Friday night, we enjoyed some carb-loading and a nice dinner date at Olive Garden! Yes, Blake gladly joined in on my carb-loading Haha!

5. One of Blake's co-workers from out of town stayed with us and brought us an awesome gift basket. Included was some pickled okra which is DELICIOUS!! Blake can't stand anything pickled, so the whole jar is MINE! Yum! Ok... my last three things have been about food. Haha! I guess I am really enjoying eating at this point in my pregnancy.

6. We cannot think of ANY girl names, so we may need some baby name books soon.

7. People keep asking if I think it is a boy or girl... and I have absolutely NO CLUE! My pregnancy has been similar to Caroline's so far, but I'm not sure if it would be different with a boy or not. We will just have to wait and see!

8. Since the half marathon, I have enjoyed lots of rest from running. I hope to keep up with about 3 miles during the rest of my pregnancy, but this next week is definitely going to be a rest week!

9. I have been in Mobile part of this week visiting my parents while Blake is out of town for work. We have had lots of fun hanging out and shopping while Janny is on spring break!

10. My latest craving is a hot dog (yea yea... I know you aren't supposed to eat them while you're pregnant) from Dew Drop Inn in Mobile. They put coleslaw on their hot dogs and they are AWESOME! I know it sounds weird, but they are really yummy! I have to admit that I actually ate TWO of them. Haha!

Februrary 26

1. I was SUPPOSED to run my first half marathon in Gulf Shores this weekend with my friends Frency and Ashley. But.... it was thundering and lightening like crazy, so they canceled the half and we just had the "post-race" party at Lulu's. It was definitely disappointing, but luckily I found one next weekend in Albany, Georgia, that I will be doing! :)

2. I had my first night away from Caroline- EVER! My friends and I stayed at my uncle's beach house on Friday night. It was fun to have a little getaway and relax without any kiddos running around. Definitely a nice time of rest for all the mommies!

3. We just announced to everyone last week that we are expecting, so it has been fun getting to share the excitement with everyone now!

4. I am starting to get a little bump already... definitely didn't have one at this stage with Caroline. Excuse the mirror selfie! Haha!

5. We went shopping at the outlet mall while we were in Gulf Shores and all found lots of striped shirts at Gap. The one I am wearing above is one of them!

6. I have been extra tired in the afternoons and have even taken some naps, which is pretty crazy for me.

7. I went to a consignment sale today and got lots of cute things for Caroline for the summer. It made me really anxious to find out if this little one is a boy or girl too!

8. I have been LOVING trail mix this week!

9. I also got some bread and butter pickles this week... yummy!

10. This first trimester has been flying by! I can't believe I will be in my 2nd trimester next week.

Here Comes Baby #2!

Well... the news is out! We are expecting Baby #2 on September 10! We found out at the beginning of January, but didn't have a doctor's appointment until mid-February. I wanted to wait until we had our first appointment and ultrasound and everything before we shared our news. February 17 was the big appointment day. My sweet friend Rachel kept Caroline so that it could just be me and Blake there. The ultrasound went great! Right when the girl put the wand on my stomach, she said "little one is moving around there!" I cannot tell you the gratitude, praise, thankfulness, and relief that gave me! What a gift from God that this little 1.5in. baby is growing healthy... and already active! (Oh, goodness. I'm not sure I can handle another active little one! Haha!) I was measuring right on schedule for a due date of September 10. After the ultrasound, were waiting in the lobby to see the doctor. Blake kept asking me if he could email all of his office and tell them. It was so fun to see him excited to share! Things are definitely different expecting the second child, so it's fun to see those little things that still make us giddy and feel like "new parents" again.

We had told our parents and siblings before the appointment, but we couldn't wait to spill the news to all our friends!! We called and texted our close friends before putting the announcement on Facebook. I made this shirt for Caroline to tell everyone...

I wasn't planning on doing a weekly blog like a did for my first pregnancy, but then I realized how fun it is to look back and remember all those little details from each week. So... here comes a new pregnancy blog!! Lots of changes from the last one though. I am going to do a picture once a month instead of every week. I am going to just do a "top 10" from each week instead of all the specific questions. Having "pregnancy brain" and not remembering anything is no joke... throw in chasing a toddler around all day and I can't remember a thing! So the top 10 will be random thoughts from the week, which is pretty much how my brain functions right now. Haha! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the updates along the way! :)

Here are some more pictures from our "big sis" photo shoot

Caroline is saying "uh oh" here... not too sure about this big sis thing!

This is her "ta da" pose. Love how prissy and girly she is!
More "uh oh's"... Haha! ;)
